This issue reflects TMDB's inconsistent and confusing rules for managing episode seasons, which are susceptible to indirect influences from the editors' geographic cultures and personalities.
Example: Re:ゼロから始める異世界生活 (https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/65942-re) has 66 episodes in its first season, but within mainland China, the streaming platform divides it into several parts: the first season, the second season (the first half), and the second season (the second half). I think this is influenced by regional culture. And in TMDB “Re:ゼロから始める異世界生活 3rd season 反擊編 (2024)” (https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/285343-re-3rd-season-2024) as the third season of “Re:ゼロから始める異世界生活” is again a separate project, and I'm not sure that's a good enough way to handle it.
Someone mentioned “ワンピース” (https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/37854), I think there's a point that there's nothing wrong with the fact that the episodes of “ワンピース” are consecutive, but it still carries a split season, and as a long running series, this split season makes it easier for the viewer to find what they want to see more easily unless you want to go through those thousands of episodes Unless you want to go through thousands of episodes and find the one you want to see, episode by episode.
Getting back to the question, if the editor-in-chief feels that the episodes need to be numbered consecutively, that's fine. However, this episode, for one thing, is clearly divided into segments, for another, there is a clear “S2” and subtitle “ARISE FROM THE SHADOW” on the poster, and for a third, according to the discussion, it is officially categorized as a second season. So why not replace S02E13 with S02E13 like “ワンピース”, which is a compromise between the consecutive numbering of the episodes and the official “S2”, and S02E01, which I prefer. Or, as in tinyMediaManager, using episode aliases, S01E13 could be either S01E13 or S02E01.
Actually, more as a beneficiary of this, I'm also often a bit confused by the TMDB data. In EMBY or JELLYFIN use, the acquired TMDB data may not be able to correspond to each other, because often the season and episode in the file name can not correspond to the TMDB data, resulting in this file's data is empty, and often need to be manually adjusted, I hope to solve this problem, and unify the management rules.

They are also the only page who uses the japanese names for the characters and not the original ones.

i think everyone is agreed 13th episode should fall under season 2 episode 1, to add to this, my apps throw error because of the api result unmatch with other api, but i understand why you cant change it, but atleast in the API you can put this under alternate episode mapping, or put a something like
episodeType
either "continuous" or "normal", or may be "anime" for continuos. idk how you you guys want to implement it. at least make it consistent. right now i need to make my api smarter, i will need to do some calculation to calculate episode number, lol.Update: i cant do the calculation since the it gives one season with 25 episodes, if i need to do calculation from other api, it will be unstable if 1 episode missing in that API, in conclusion, right now tmdb api have zero way to map episodes with other api, the alternate episode mapping is necessary if you want to let people use desire way of episodes, without violating the rules.

This entire issue is an astonishing display of site mods being willingly and stubbornly wrong in the face of overwhelming pushback using both objective proof and subjective common sense.
Mods, please just fix this. You are wrong. You've been proven wrong. Please accept your wrongness and fix the episode ordering that is uniquely wrong on only this site. This is frustratingly far from the only series like this that's affected as well, and it is forcing people off of TMDB as a metadata source.

One thing's for sure, the current approach is definitely flawed. I think the right way for doing this should be that of separating the episodes in different seasons, having episode numbers for new season starting from "1", and having an extra field for each episode indicating the "progressive" number. It doesn't make sense to have everything stuck inside a single season, more so for shows that have hundreds or thousands of episodes (as other said before, like Dragon Ball or OnePiece)

Exactly the right approach !
Because in addition there is a huge loss of information and a total mix of images, poster or otherwise.

In any case, it's funny to see that Travis Bell still hasn't given any sign of life on this subject. It's been several months now that we've all been here saying that their policy is a mistake and that, moreover, Solo Leveling Season 2 is indeed a real Season 2. By the way, the moderators have disappeared as well.

Yeah, I'm not expecting a single reply anytime soon. They tried to defend their nonsensical rules, and when it was pointed out in great detail how they made absolutely no sense and contradicted themselves in several ways, they buried their heads in the sands and went radio silent because they have nothing left to justify their idiotic stubbornness. Genuinely one of the most pathetic mod teams I've ever dealth with, just ignoring problems until they hopefully go away.

Citing directly from your guidelines: "The main guidelines for animes are the same as with any other type of series. Our goal is to replicate how the TV series were originally released on their original network. The episodes of anime series should be in the exact order in which they were originally released in Japan."
As everyone else before me signaled, in every official site (i.e. wikipedia) IT IS LISTED AS SEASON 2.
It makes no sense to force these episodes as S01E13 instead of S02E01.

It seems like every comment is asking to split off Season 2, and there aren't any opposing views from users at all. The only ones against it seem to be the mods.
Can we escalate this somehow? Maybe the site owner could weigh in?
With the mods ignoring user feedback in these discussions, not just for "Solo Leveling," but for other anime too, this isn't going anywhere. It feels like user opinions don’t matter and they’re just stubbornly ignoring their own guidelines even.

You forgot to cite an important part of the anime rules : "When a series is released in two or more parts, the new episodes should also be added to the same season when the episode number are continuous."

It doesn't matter. Rules on this website can be changed. Literally every single commenter is asking you to do so.

On Wikipedia and other sites, these episodes AREN'T SORTED as S01E13 (or SEASON ONE PART 2), but as S02E01 (or SEASON 2).
Why aren't you aknowledging it?

Wikipedia is not an official site.
On the official Japanese site, this episode is listed as episode 13 as visible here and consequently should be listed in the same season in our site.
