First Equalizer was a white Englishman
Second Equalizer was a black American man
Third Equalizer is a black American woman
What next? White English woman? That would give a certain symmetry.

I did see some of those shows, perhaps most notably Herman's Head. I followed Profiler too, it's worth mentioning that the DVD set omits an episode, "I'll Be Watching You" from season 1, because they were unable to get the music rights to the song by The Police. But it can still be shown on TV because those rights were already contracted. I recorded the whole series from the Chiller Channel, I think it was.

Not that one, The X-Files. I figured you would get that since I called her Dana?

I wasn't sure, sometimes it's hard to figure which 'mech' you are. Plus I haven't finished my morning coffee yet.

I have all of Young Americans on tape.
Also Deepwater Black, perhaps most notable for the presence of Nicole de Boer.
Also Catwalk. Season 1, anyway. Season 2 was never completely shown and apparently is still tangled in rights disputes.

I didn't get up until 11:00 am, I posted the comment about 11:30 am, so I was still waking up.
As for the 'which mech' you are/were, sometimes your comments seemed to be posted by an entirely different person. But we've had this conversation before (a long time ago).

Yes, and I've noticed in the past that some of the YT clips appear to have been uploaded by people who bought tapes or DVDs from me.
I recognized the station promos etc.
I recorded "Deepwater Black" from the Trio cable channel, which apparently is only an online thing now. (If it still exists at all. I haven't checked for a long time) They changed the name to "Mission Genesis" for showing on SciFi Channel.

Funny you should mention that, I just found it on Amazon Prime and started re-watching it!

Sorry I just can't watch puppets, especially not in a show that's supposed to be serious.

It's weird, I don't remember that channel at all (even after reading the wiki article)?

I don't think it was carried by a large number of cable systems, but I got it from Dish Network back in the day. The Wiki article isn't real clear about when Trio stopped being available via online streaming, but that isn't very important.
They had some blocks of "brilliant but cancelled" and I remember at least from time to time they would allocate some time each day for a different rotation of those shows.
Trio was apparently more or less a Canadian operation, which explains why they showed Deepwater Black which was a Canadian TV production. (Shown on YTV.) They could have - and should have - also shown Catwalk but may have decided against it because of the problems regarding season 2.

I felt the same way when I watched the pilot episode, wrote it off as Buck Rogers with Muppets!
I was convinced to stick with it and am glad I did, it's an excellent series.
A lot less puppets than I feared there would be too!

Nikki Cox was in an episode of Star Trek TNG, "Pen Pals," and was in all seasons of "Las Vegas" with James Caan.
Carla Gugino was not in Surface, but she did another sci-fi series, "Threshold," which got only one season but had a lot of potential. It also had Brent "Data" Spiner and Peter "Game Of Thrones" Dinklage.
Episode 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VN6SE1XYkb0
Sounds like it might be sped up just a bit, but not terribly so.
There was another series at the same time as "Surface," I think it was called "Invasion." "Surface" started out with an interesting idea/premise, but for one reason or another it turned into hash like "Lost."
Yep that's the one. "Surface" was on NBC and "Invasion" aired on ABC, each episode 2 days later than "Surface." "Surface" was more weird, but suffered from that.

I remember liking something with Jeff Fahey, but looking through his imdb credits I can't remember what it was.

I saw Machete - and have a digital recording in my collection too, along with the original Grindhouse stuff - but I'm thinking of something more sci-fi-ish, just can't figure out what it was from the titles on his list of credits.
But not "lawnmower man" which always struck me more as faaaaantasy (said derisively).
It seems like some kind of submarine was involved. Hopefully I'll figure it ou.
