Making Dr. Lightman more and more of an unhinged b`astard.

I'm just into the 3rd and last season and struck by how much of a d!ck Lightman has turned into. He's got all these strange ticks, and mannerisms and he really is just a total douchebag. He always had some edge to him, but they turned him into a really unlikable character. Not surprised the show was cancelled.

Yes....and I liked him a lot in the beginning. Another case of the first season being the best, and producers not stopping while they're ahead!

I have to guess the producers were pushing the writers to make Lightman more edgy in an effort to boost the ratings. All it did was turn me off and I actually stopped watching after the beginning of the 3rd season. Such a cool concept for a show, too.
