AP style guide might be the most popular, but two words with four letters we, IMDb and Wikipedia don't capitalize are: from, with

Yes, it's one of the many unwritten capitalization guidelines that you can only find by looking other similar titles on this site. Using distributor capitalization would be total madness, don't you agree? We want to create unified and professional looking site and the only way we can accomplish that is by following capitalization styles guides. Like you I'd like to know what style guide to follow especially for foreign titles.

I agree, we need better capitalization guidelines. Lets see what the other Mods think the capitalization rule should be. I'd recommend using same capitalization as IMDb or Wikipedia to save a lot of lime and energy.

Simply put IMDb or Wikipedia always use the same capitalization style guide, but the distributors usually don't.

Example: Gone with the Wind
A user reports: Please capitalize the W and T
A You check IMDb or Wikipedia and instantly see what capitalization to use (easy and fast for every mod to do)
B You try to determine what capitalization the distributor used (yeah, I think you can see the problem with this method)

Stylized titles are OK, but big databases like IMDb don't allow them simply because they want unified data that can be easily maintained. Only way they can accomplish that is by following specific and easy rules. I hope you understand that I'm only trying to help.

All that I'm trying to say is we should select an actual capitalization style guide what to follow. The capitalization guideline we now have is too vague and hard to follow. As I said earlier I'd like to hear from other Mods and users what we should do with this problem.

Capitalize My Title has many good styles we could select, if we don't want to create our own rules.

I have come across titles on distributor websites that are in ALL CAPS. I don't think that means that we should use ALL CAPS for all those titles because they have such a lazy style implementation on their websites. So if the current written rules in the bible is not covering this particular case I would vote to add something about titles like this one to get it in line with the 99.999 of other titles on TMDb. But if other mods also prefer distributor data over long standing TMDb tradition and general universal style rules, I will get ready to change hundreds of titles to CAPS LOCK eventually.

And if we are going to go all style in this case, why not use the on screen title? Who cares if it's ALL CAPS. confused
