Diskutuoti apie Sharp Objects

So far, I think this show is great. Probably the best new series to debut yet this year. The acting and writing is top notch, but not only that the directing and cinematography is beautifully done. There are so many great shots. I love the use of imagery to tell the story.

It's even better when you already know who murdered the 2 young girls.

Because then you also understand what's going on much better.

Whereas if you don't know who killed them or the reason why they did it, then lots of the clues that they keep leaving in the episodes would probably also not even be noticed until one went back and watched the episodes again.

Since the story is also based upon a BOOK version of the story, that's also the way that one can find out who did it.

Just go read the PLOT SUMMARY of the book that's also available online.

book

I just started watching and I must admit.... I cheated and read spoilers. I must agree with you - I do like picking up clues I may not have noticed if I didn't know.

The funny thing is - everyone I know gets annoyed at me for checking out spoilers and the like - (I generally keep it to myself) I always respond with "It makes me enjoy the show more"

Now I realize why - spoilers allow me to ignore the minutia and focus on the things I "need" to know.

I finished Sharp Object today - my heart broke for Camille. .... Although I want Amma to pay the price for her crimes - I think Camille will excuse it because of the childhood damage. You're right there is more to the story, I don't know where the book ended though.

I actually like when a show is one season - and a complete story is told.

I have not watched Big Little Lies yet. Two friends told me how great it was so I may start watching soon. I recently finished The Handmaid's Tale so I need something else to watch, LOL.

Read an article saying the book version ends with Camille turning Amma in after she discovers what she's done.

If and whenever you get a chance to watch it, please let me know if you like BIG LITTLE LIES.

I also CHEATED when watching that show and read the WIKIPEDIA PLOT SUMMARY of the BOOK VERSION so that I also knew WHO was the GUILTY party in that show too.

I'm such a SPOILER WHORE.

Just can't help myself if there's a way to find out what's happening in a show before it happens.

wink

First ep of Big Little Lies on now! i love spoilers too - since Lost actually, lol

Damn! This is great series. Some episode seemed drawn out but it allowed more in-depth views of the characters. 123movies

I'm so happy that they didn't jam it all into a movie.

Did you cheat yet and check out who the criminal is in BIG LITTLE LIES???

Let me know if you like this other show.

No, not yet... LOL

I like the mini series format too. More time to develop a character/story yet ... not a lifetime commitment.

I loved Big Little Lies and I am curious how season 2 will play out. I really like Sharp Objects too. It was a slow burn, and I liked the character building. I started suspecting the stepdad, then the mother toward the end. The very last scene totally surprised me tho. I read an article that Amy Adams did not want to do another season due to the role being very dark and draining for her, which I understand completely. HBO has had some amazing shows.

I don't recall if it was addressed in the show, but I totally thought the stepdad should have been charged with something as well. There is no way he didn't know what Adora was doing/had done. He just stood by and watched her poison those girls and did absolutely nothing. Their whole relationship seemed so off to me. They never seemed to be intimate with each other. Adora seemed very distant and almost cold toward him. I wonder why he even stayed with her all those years.

She had the money. She seemed to wear the pants in the relationship as well. A domineering woman like that is going to partner up with a submissive/passive man.
