I can't agree. I think the character is fantastic and played well. I understand how folk wouldn't like him but I think that's the point.

No, he's a huge p( )ssy & easily the weakest of the cast more in terms of being miscast than his actual performances. That cartoon voice...

You're in a minority of people then from what I've seen.
Any other forums I've seen comment on him see the character as amusing and while he's camp in many ways, he's domineering and strong at the same time.

I love the character's over-the-top romanticism of Bobby Axe. At the same time he seems just bright enough to run his own place. Axe appreciates his managerial skills along with his fearless approach to carrying out orders or even giving advice to big honcho Axe. Not too many people get Axe's ear. I think David Costabile does a wonderful job. He is highly entertaining and watchable in a "what will he do next" kind of way. I can't see Wags ever turning on Bobby Axe, but who knows what's down the road.
