It was just an idea, but it is a similar state

Indeed. The Cancelled status is mostly to let user know the series had an (usually) unexpected and unplanned end. I can only assume From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series is cancelled. But, as far as I can tell, the fate of the series was never discussed publicly.
