This is from an old case but it rankled so much I just have to comment on it. The case was brought by a separated father whose ex-wife had met someone on the internet and within a couple of days of meeting him (my memory may be faulty here it could have been weeks or months - but not long) she had allowed him to take her very young daughter into a toilet on his own. The father was justifiably outraged but Judge Judy thought that he had no cause for complaint - it was Ok to do that. She said that children get into bed with their parent and new partners all the time - she seemed to be oblivious to the fact that in those situations the parent is also present. I could not believe she made that judgement. There was an awkward silence from the studio audience too. I usually am in favour of her decisions but this one was totally unacceptable.
