The immortal words of Yogi Berea rang in my head throughout the episode. The only moment of coolness caner when I saw Rumple. Yes Lana was good, the new Henry okay, but Lucy was young Henry almost to a T. And Henry in their scenes was playing Emma from season one pretty note perfect, too. A reset button was not what this show needed. It needed to end. The finale of season six was a perfect goodbye to the show. Thinking starting over again would bring life back to the faded myth was a mistake. Just allowing it to end would have been the better way.
Also the suddenly Dominican Cinderella was one re-imagining too many in a show with a long string-of character re-imaginings. Cinderella was a very blond Caucasian. Is that anti-PC these days?

No, Rumpel didn't know who he was until Emma said her name to Granny and Rumpel overheard and said, "Emma, what a lovely name". That was when he got his memories back, so he did have his memories for the year Emma was in town, but not for the other 28 years of the curse. This curse seems to have just happened since we see Lucy running around in the Enchanted Forest flashbacks and she looks to be a similar age. It was only Regina and Jefferson who had their memories during the entire curse. Sure, Rumpel could, but i think it is unlikely. I don't think that Rumpel would act the way that he is acting if he wasn't cursed.

I think the silliest thing is that they had Emma come back into the story and gave no reason at all for her to be off screen from here on out. Emma being pregnant is not a good reason. Many of the characters on the show have been pregnant and still part of the action. Emma being in a different realm seems to be no problem. They gave no reason at all for Emma to not just pop back up in the story. Anyone that didn't know this was her last episode would never think that was an end for that character.

I did not see the ep but it sounds like it may have been meant for later in the season but due to the negative reaction to the premier it was bumped up. Sure this is an arc show but some editing could have also been involved to make it fit. Whatever. This is the end IMO. Too bad as again last season would have been a better goodbye.

That makes it even worse. :/ I am now starting to believe that Adam and Eddy really did have some weird fascination with the Emma/Hook relationship and everything they wrote was influenced by it. They would rather keep that ship in tact than write a great story for the real Hook. At least I can take solace in knowing that Rumple isn't fake. haha
