The immortal words of Yogi Berea rang in my head throughout the episode. The only moment of coolness caner when I saw Rumple. Yes Lana was good, the new Henry okay, but Lucy was young Henry almost to a T. And Henry in their scenes was playing Emma from season one pretty note perfect, too. A reset button was not what this show needed. It needed to end. The finale of season six was a perfect goodbye to the show. Thinking starting over again would bring life back to the faded myth was a mistake. Just allowing it to end would have been the better way.
Also the suddenly Dominican Cinderella was one re-imagining too many in a show with a long string-of character re-imaginings. Cinderella was a very blond Caucasian. Is that anti-PC these days?

Exactly this!
It sure was, I totally agree.
Yep.
Personally, the character re-imaginings have never bothered me- since that's all they were -character re-imaginings-not real people, but no I don't think it is anti-PC if you feel that way.

Kind of like The Force Awakens was to the original Star Wars, no?

I agree that they should have just ended it with Season 6. Season 7 will presumably be the final season anyway. I admit the season premiere caught my interest enough to keep tuning in, but I could have lived without it at the same time.

I just can't see going through the whole "discovery" and "end of the curse" thing again. If the show were a movie and this were the sequel people would complain it was a thinly disguised rehash.
As for the Cinderella comment I made, I meant the network afraid of not being Politically Correct in casting against type. They do it so blatantly (as in making characters gay that were not initially) just for the sake of being edgy it has become annoying.

Seriously, their idea of edgy is like 1950s. What decade do they think we are in? They are still showing Cinderella without her own sword. She even was on her way to murder someone without a weapon and had to take one from Henry. I am sick of the women always using the men's weapons. It is just so ridiculous. And that isn't even a big thing. The women have just become so old fashion, married, pregnant, and standing next to a man.
Yeah, and the whole LGBT thing has been terrible and their attempt at being open to other types of relationships has just been offensive.

Well it's Disney\ABC's way of being edgy! lol
As you can guess I am done with the show. It was fun while it lasted. I'll mentally leave everyone to their "happy endings" and ABC can do whatever it likes with these "strangers".

I definitely see where you're coming from. After watching the premiere and seeing the recent spoilers, I am back in the "I'm not sure where this is going boat." I thought it was pretty obvious, but apparently it's not if the current spoiler is correct. WARNING: Spoiler below:
Emma is pregnant. Why in the world would they make Emma pregnant if Jennifer Morrison isn't on the show anymore? I think they might be leaning towards a new curse and not necessarily a re-telling or "other realm" type scenario. I'm assuming we will meet Emma and Hook's child at some point before this is over.

I think Alice is Emma's child. There are two Hook's though, so who knows how that works. Also, Henry already met Alice in the last episode and Emma is going to be pregnant in the next, so i don't know how that works. It seems like a mess, but even if it isn't Alice, i agree that we will probably meet Emma's second child at some point.

I guess it would depend when Emma had her child as to whether or not it could be Alice. If she got pregnant right after they got married, then maybe. But I hope she/he isn't a fairytale character like Emma herself.
On a side note, I suspect that Rumple is "awake" so to speak and may hold the key to knowing what's going on. I also question whether or not there really is two Hooks/two Reginas/Two Rumples and wonder if this is all just a new curse that sent them to the future with new memories.

Well, I think there is only two Hooks because the writers give that fandom gets special treatment. Rumpel could be awake. He wasn't during the first curse. I don't think he is though. I think it is more likely that Alice is awake.

Being a Hook fan, I would have greatly preferred less special treatment to be honest. lol. I know I'm in the minority among Captain Swan fans, but I would have preferred to see them break up or have Emma die over having to follow this new Hook from the Wish Realm who hated from the beginning. haha. I know I should be happy that the Emma and Hook I know will live happily ever after, but I still don't like the twist.
If Roni is actually Regina, then it is possible that Rumple is still Rumple. But now I'm thinking they might do something similar with Rumple that they did with Hook so Rumbelle can have a happy ending. I imagine that would leave me similarly dissatisfied however.

Gold knew exactly who he was as did Regina the first go round. They being architects of the curse were apparently immune to it. Don't you recall the scene in season one under Regina's apple tree??

Oh God. That would be truly jumping the shark.
The show has from the start leaned heavily on the trope of “villains turning good,” and it has done it more shamelessly than perhaps anything I’ve ever seen. The one character that has repeatedly resisted this sort of transformation is Rumple. In fact he’s become to Belle sort of like Lucy and the football. He’s betrayed her so many times after seeming to turn a corner that even if he finally at long last changes (after what, 200 years as a scoundrel?), there’d still be no way she could possibly trust him again.
Even the last season had that problem. They seemed to be together at the end, but they never resolved any of the matters that still made him a massive creep to her. He “did the right thing,” but still had selfish motives. I’ve always felt he was the best character on the show, and part of the reason was that the writers maintained the nerve to create a complicated antihero instead of caving and inexplicably transforming him into a conventional hero, like they did with so many other characters. But I felt there was something more than a touch disturbing about his basically abusive relationship with Belle on a supposed Disney family show.
And yes, it would be even worse if they make this one a double from another world, just like they did with Hook. It reminds me a little of the final season of Sliders, if anyone remembers that show. You know a show has truly gone off the rails when it starts replacing its regulars with parallel-world doubles.

Exactly. I guess that is why I was so disappointed with the Hook reveal. I don't want a Hook double. I want the real Hook even if it means giving up Emma/Hook as a couple. The whole thing was a cop out, and they used a version of Hook that was only created as the result of a wish. I realize that TPTB were stuck between a rock and a hard place, but they should have made the bold choice and gone with the real Hook. They would have had to be more creative in the writing department regarding Emma's role, but that isn't a bad thing. Whenever they have the opportunity to do something bold and daring, they take the easy way out and it leaves things feeling... dull.

The writers said that Regina and Rumpel are really themselves. It is only Hook that is fake.
