Washing Machines In Space

When I was a kid, I remember that one of the first tv series I watched when I returned from living in Ireland was Lost In Space. Now there was one episode where Maureen and Judy were taking clothes out of a washing machine. You read that right, a huge, old fashioned washing machine. I thought, " Why would they take such a big machine into space?" I was only 8 years old, but it didn't make sense to me. Does anyone else remember that scene?

I am a 'baby boomer', so I was 12 when this show debuted. Honestly, at the time I thought it was a 'dumb' show.

When I lived in Ireland, the only American tv shows on Irish tv were Hee-Haw and Green Acres. So you can imagine my delight when I got back to the US in 1969 and saw all of the different American tv shows.
