For anyone who stumbles across this series. Teknoman is the international English dub / edited version of Tekkaman Blade. It was one of those rare anime shows that actually managed to find its way onto the airwaves in the US back in the 90s. In this case on UPN with additional changes from the international version. The version found on DVD from Media Blasters/Anime Works is the international version. The show was edited down from 49 episodes to 43. Featuring your standard fare of odd edits and strangely enough redubing several of the characters twice as well as changing character names. Example "Blade" is changed to "Slade" in the UPN version. You are better off watching the original Japanese version of course. But from a historical time capsule point of view Teknoman is an interesting show to watch to see how executives kept trying to bring anime to the states and the weird changes they would make in an effort to appease censors and network executives.

Personally I do remember seeing this show on TV. The fact that it had an continuous story line and some real consequences for some characters (a few die, unheard of for a "kids" cartoon back then) was pretty mind blowing for me as a kid. That said the show had a schizophrenic schedule, mid day on Sunday from what I remember, and started to rerun previous episode instead of the next episode like it should. Eventually I couldn't find it at all. Meaning for me the story got cut off about half way through.

Small side note. It appears at least as of 2021 someone has deleted the Teknoman entry from theTVDB.com This is pretty annoying as it means some specific show art and episode screencaps are gone now.
