The dates are always wrong for Apple TV shows here for some reason. Look at this discussion for Severance where they won't budge on it either. It's an embarrassing look for TMDB as it's just wrong on this and they don't seem to want to budge on it. I don't see why they refuse to just go off the official air dates. Let's look at some official information: From Apple TV+ Press (Official Website) - "“The Studio” is officially set to make its global debut on Apple TV+, with the first two episodes on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, followed by one episode every Wednesday through May 21, 2025."

Also just look through the release dates on the Apple TV+ page for the series, with the published release dates of the released episodes as a source of truth

There seems to be for some reason the idea that Apple TV+ releases shows the day before they release them. Even if that's been true in the past, it's such a shortsighted move to treat that as gospel when there are official items stating otherwise. Let's look at the TMDB TV Bible now: From the TMDB TV Bible Episode Guide - "For recent TV series, the best source is often its official website. We try to mirror how the episodes were first released on the original network's website. When different, the data on the official website usually trumps press releases and TV listing info."

The closest thing I can find that would allow TMDB to use the wrong dates is potentially this "When a television network airs a preview of their television series on their own network, the preview date can be used. For example, the pilot of Freeform's The Bold Type previewed on Freeform three weeks before the official series premiere."

However, looking at Apple Press (so again officially from the distributor) we have this press release, dated 25 March, 2025 again stating "the acclaimed, star-studded comedy series that will make its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Wednesday, 26 March, 2025 followed by one episode every Wednesday through 21 May, 2025". Note that it's March 25 and there's no mention of "Streaming now" or "Available a day early" like the TMDB would have you believe.

Looking at this, I don't see how TMDB can justify not addressing their policy of incorrect dates across the board on Apple TV+ shows.

AppleTV+ releases its content in the early morning Irish time, which means the evening of the previous day in the United States, and this is a US TV show.

In the United States, this show was available on March 25 around 9pm.

Is there anything official that states this? I'm just struggling to see how this rule of thumb is so broadly used when I can't find anything official about it, and all actual written evidence points to the published date being the published date.

Do you know something called the time zones ? When March 26 starts in Ireland and AppleTV release its TV show, it is still March 25 for multiple hours in the United States.

The rule of our site is to use the date the show is available in its origin country.

The same apply to Amazon Prime TV shows.
