Seriously?
As Scorpio said, it was assumed that Tim was going to be saying it was gawdy but no -- HE LOVED IT! Couldn't they have said Brandon go back to the drawing board -- or cough up the dough you are keeping to spend it on fabric that is not on clearance!

Exactly this. Personally, I would not wear not one item with a flamingo pattern- especially if it's couch material.

Exactly. I could see an elderly retired woman liking that pattern- but not the styling and cut of his designs.
You know it is because he is the judges favorite- admittedly, he was mine too until he did all that bird

If I were in my 20's I would wear some of his pieces, including the print. I wouldn't want an entire closet full of it, though. I loved the flamingo bottom with solid top that he showed. The other one was terrible. A messy crop top and a bulky waist bottom, ugly enough on its own but completely wrong for his hourglass figure model.

I thought of scrubs, too. Scrubs in an assisted living home....in Florida...

I wonder why Tim didn't tell him to add some variation in his color scheme, because it was quite obvious. Then, it hits the runway, and the judges were saying everything blended together.

Not to mention the lack of a wow piece. Maybe he just assumed that Brandon knows how to "show" a collection in addition to designing the cloths. Then again, I think he would have mentioned that to any of the other designers in that scenario. The whole thing is very puzzling.

I agree it's puzzling. Here he was so harsh on Kentaro for not being cohesive, and Kenya for having boring colors...yet nary a peep warning Brandon that all the flamingos and no wow piece might be repetitive. Again, unless it was edited out...just to take the audience along the ride of the lie that he was going to win? who knows

That's as good a guess as any.

If that is so, it was edited out, why didn't they show Brandon stitching up a new garment? They made it appear as if he was overconfident, and I think he was. They only showed him fussing with Lyricist's top, and she even wondered about the lack of standout piece. She's not even a designer and knew that. In fact, I think most of the audience knew from watching over the years. I still don't know why Brandon didn't make a finale piece. Unless, he was unable to do it.

I guess, yeah, he could have been over-confident but I still don't blame him. I am just thinking of how he was in the earlier episodes...he seemed extremely insecure, doubting everything he did, feeling like he was going to get voted out because he had no idea what he was doing -- but the judges fawned over him almost every single time. So, that taught him not to doubt himself, really, because it seemed whatever he did was fantastic in their eyes haha. So, he might have been serious when he said he's seen other fashion shows where they have 10 in a row that are similar, so he thought that would work here (even though, uh, no)? But again, why doubt himself? He doubted so much in the beginning and they convinced him not to. He should have made better decisions for his final line, but I still kinda can't blame him for thinking it would be okay. And what is the point of Tim going there to coach them if he gave him zero advice?

Yeah, I can see that, but at the end of the day, he has to give them something a step above the usual. It is fashion week!
In fact, I think one of the judges said that at the preview that this is what they know him to do and look forward to something more.
Yeah, I've seen those fashion show by ESTABLISHED designers -- not on Project Runway.
