Last night was a decent runway show. If there had been a winner, I would have picked Kentaro. Brandons's was his usual aesthetic, which you either like or don't. I liked it. Kenya's coat was cool, but the pants and blouse underneath looked like something you can buy in any mall. As for Ayana, I think she stumbled a bit in this challenge. I didn't like her coat as much as the judges did, and there is NO WAY Nina Garcia would wear that, despite her claim. I don't think Heidi would either. I remember owning a jumpsuit very similar to that one in the late 80's. The pink neon with black combined with the houndstooth print had a definite 80's vibe, not in a good way. Margarita made a very basic, although nice looking coat, and a dress that wasn't well made and was not flattering to her model. I think I would have sent her home. The judges really seem to like the competition for spots.
I liked both Kentaro's and Brandon's. I also liked Ayana's- not so much the way the jumpsuit was made, but I liked the pattern of the black/white against the pink/black coat. I did not like the pattern of Kenya's coat -too old lady looking and I agree the pants and blouse looked like something you can buy in any mall-all Kenya's designs look that way to me.
Margarita - oh hell no.The only reason they picked her for fashion week was because they did not want Tim to look even more stupid for using his save on her. Tim saving her one week and then her getting the boot the next would have reflected poorly on his judgement and saving her truly was poor judgement in the first place. Wasted save.
And as I said before - again all Margarita did was whine and cry - soon as she was told no use of fur-a nervous breakdown ensues, then she had the nerve to criticize Ayana's design with that big as s fugly (F-ed up and ugly = fugly) fur dress she half stitched and the audacity to be upset that none of the others named her to go to fashion week. Turns out she is even more of a crybaby than those twins she always used to complain about. She will not be able to handle the pressure of fashion week- let alone design 7 outfits that don't look like crappy costumes.

Me too.

Don't forget she throws in that poor Puerto Rican stuff every chance she gets.
Okay, I am going to change my mind on Kenya. She's a decent designer, but she's not fit to be a contender. However, if she does something to surprise me, I have a right to change my mind.
I would love to see Kentaro win. I think Brandon is more of the same stuff, and I get bored with it.
Seeing the preview of Anya's fabric choices looks boring too, and I hope she doesn't go into that direction.
I hope Kentaro, Brandon and Ayana go to the end. I wouldn't want to wear what Brandon does, but he does have a definite aesthetic and I like how carefully or "thoughtfully" (as Tim Gunn would say) he places every button, strap, etc.
When they were auditioning to be on the show, I liked Kenya's designs the best (showing her past work). The most wearable. But unfortunately have not been too impressed with anything she's done during the show. Too much peplum. And Margarita aggravates me some, she always has an excuse for why something is wrong with her outfit. And I did not like the wonder woman dress...I don't know. Haven't liked anything she's done either.

Exactly this.
I predict she will already be crying about something not going right when Tim shows up at her door for the house visit.

Yeah, I wish Michael were still around. I would have liked to see a collection from him. Wasted save, for sure.
Thanks for the clarification on fugly. I've always wondered where that came from.

Kentaro , Brandon or Ayana , I'm okay with either one of them winning.
I really want to see all 3 of their designs/collections.

I'm not really excited to see what Brandon designs. I will be curious to know if he does something different, but I know what I'll see.

Maybe he will decide to do at least one design with "no strings attached"

And. . . that ONE design will be everything! He will win. The end.
They will narrow it down to 3 designers to go to Fashion Week. That will be Brandon, Kentaro, and maybe Anaya.

I can't think of a single look of Margarita's that I didn't go, meh.
Oh, and Brandon is totally going to win.
