I'd like to add to this that it does in fact be incorrect to actually list this episode. It was clearly put in as an explainer of watching Kaleidoscope and not as an actual episode. Not only that, but Netflix also somewhat confirms this as well in their How to watch 'Kaleidoscope' Article. They say that there are 8 total episodes, with 5 being before the heist. Whereas no matter what order Netflix gives you, the Black episode makes that 6 episodes. So it seems even Netflix doesn't count it.

Netflix list "Black" as an episode on the series page. So, we need to list it here also.

I've seen them list recaps in the episode list before, doesn't mean much.

The initial press release does not include the Black episode either: http://thefutoncritic.com/video/2022/12/13/video-kaleidoscope-official-trailer-netflix-350311/20221213netflix05/

And according to interviews, the episode names turn into white, if black is in that mix, then that cannot be the case.

rlaphoenix is correct, it should be listed as a special. This screws up other sources that take info from TMBD as well like Trakt.tv and Plex.

The relevant information is the episodes list on the release page, which include "Black" as an episode.

IMDB does not seem to be so stubborn. It just lists the real episodes: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15438246/episodes?ref_=tt_eps_sm
