...National Wine Day!
National Wine Day is an annual feast celebrated on May 25th of every year.
I think it's so great that Penny has her on holiday! The best part is (and I quote): "you need not excuse yourself to have a glass of wine or perhaps some glasses of wine."
Enjoy!

Today is…
How about we show some
AND give a
for a group of Talented Helper-Bees who hardly seemed to get as much recognition as they deserve for the great job that they do.

Today is....
"...celebrated on April 3 each year, honors and recognizes the talented composers who have elevated the attraction of a movie. These film scores mesmerize audiences long after the end credits have rolled and contribute immensely to the movie’s popularity. The day recognizes the contributions of the talented composers who created these immortal film scores. Film scores are usually music without vocals."
I checked out “Ranker’s” top 200 film (movie) scores. A few films I haven’t seen…more than a few films I’ve seen, but don’t remember their score.
Anyway…
My top favorites (in release-date-order?) – No matter where, or how often I hear them, I stop and give-a-listen:
(Of course, if I was going to pick a favorite; it would have to be Schindler’s List; but only-by-a-hair over Gladiator.)
To paraphrase:
There are two universal languages - one is love, the other music.

Here is the link if anybody would like to peruse it:

Where the heck is 'The Mission'? Also, it's weird that 'they' didn't include the composer's name on the entry.

Today is...
"National Siblings Day 2024: observed on April 10 each year, celebrates the bond between siblings. Brothers and sisters, whether biological, adopted or chosen, appreciate their relationship on this day."
Happy Siblings Day to a lifetime co-conspirator who has tried his best to keep me from needing one.

I grew up with one half-sister, we fought most of the time & really don't speak. I have two half-brothers (who are also my cousins), who I have never met.

Kind of surprised (not that I'm an expert). But, I've found that even if siblings are constant at war while growing up, they usually make peace/call a truce as adults.
Also, now it seems everyday-folk are getting divorced and remarried at a rate once 'reserved' for celebrities. So, for many of us our “Family Tree” mirrors this times we live in. That is, it may include a couple "branches" we know nothing about.

Well, at least you weren't shocked by the being 'double related'. Most people when they hear about my brothers the word 'hillbilly' comes up. But it really isn't that weird. When my parents divorced, my father married my mother's cousin, they had two sons. They grew up in California (I live in Washington State), so had no opportunity to meet them.

My first two jobs were in the public sector. When dealing with what's going on in someone's life you have to (among other things) "work hard" not to assume, not to judge.

Checked out the USA list...
1)
Appears "Lady Liberty" is the only one I've checked out up-close-in-person.
2)
However, I am a big Frank Lloyd Wright fan. Even so, I've only seen his stuff on TV...and pictures in books/magazines.

I've seen two in the US:
Redwood National Parks & Olympic National Park. The first as a young child (6 or 7) & the second 20 years or so ago. I so wish I was rolling in money because there are so many places in the world that I want to see.
