Sheldon does seem to be a bit embarrassed about his down home spun roots. Everyone in Texas was dumb as a box of rocks according to his Star Wars fanfiction when he asks Spock to take him away. And let's not forget they he doesn't know the difference between a snowy tree cricket and a common field cricket although he will insist that he does until proven wrong. Or when Priya found a loophole in the roommate agreement

Or when Leslie Winkle corrected his white board after spending a night with Leonard

Or when Penny pointed out that he could have had soup delivered

Yes, but, those are also reasons why Sheldon would make up his childhood being BETTER than it was, not WORSE.

It seems to me that Sheldon looks at the entire world as a terrible place. It doesn't matter if it's the past or present. I can't remember the exact quotes, but several times he's told people how difficult it is for him to understand people. I can feel sorry for him but he also should have sought help.

I blame his mother.

Yes, she should have followed up with that specialist in Houston.

But of course it's possible that if Sheldon had been "cured," he wouldn't have won the Nobel, etc.

I just started a new thread if y'all would like to join me when you have a chance. ๐Ÿ˜
