The episode rocked pretty hard. I didn't read the "Here's Negan" comic books, but what I do know about them is this: Negan is married to Lucille, who is a sick patient in them as well, before the apocalypse. If I recall correctly, Lucille's in the hospital at the time that the shit goes down - the hospital loses its power, and she dies and turns. Also, IIRC, Negan walks into Lucille's room and has to deal with this. Quite a different turning point from her committing suicide, as she did in the season finale. Aside from the show's makers' apparently vital, continuing intention to redeem Negan after his brutal murders of Glenn and Abraham, two fan favorites on the show way back, it was a strong ep. In the comicbook world, I got the sense that Negan was always an a-hole; in the TV world, they started him off as a reasonably nice guy who turns avenging angel.
In spite of myself, I chuckled when I saw Negan cut that barbed wire off of that fence as his turn went toward the dark side. Very entertaining finale.
I felt Jeffrey Dean Morgan's acting was quite strong in this ep.

That's good to hear because these "bonus" episodes have been crap with the exception of the Robert Patrick episode.
Last week's episode where Carol tried to catch a rat was as ridiculously bad as it sounds 😖
