Possibly a misprice, so grab it quick, but the entire series is currently £12.99 at Apple/iTunes. HD only (apparently they don't currently do 4K TV to buy) but still worth it if you enjoyed the show.

I live in the US so probably not available to me. Also, can I assume this is a digital version? If I am going to spend money on a TV show, movie, etc. I ALWAYS buy a physical copy, that way someone can't come along & say "sorry, you don't really own this TV show, movie, etc., it is being deleted from our platform". I just received the two -disc 'original international' version (288 minutes) of John Woo's 'Red Cliff'. I have seen the US abridged version but have always wanted to see the uncut version.

I've just checked the US version of the site I use to flag iTunes offers* and it looks as if the best US price has been $49.99. The UK price is now £49.99. Usually we get stiffed on prices, so that's something of an outlier.
Yep, digital only. I've been buying PC games digitally for a years (much cheaper and obviously takes less space) though, once downloaded, they are normally "yours". Playstation games followed for similar reasons once I found price alert sites as I figured that I rarely replay games. I did follow the same thinking as you on movies/TV until last year, when I got a 4K TV and found out that it isn't simple to play 4K discs without paying over the odds for a player or an "approved" drive if you use an HTPC like me. Then I was introduced to CheapCharts and got all 6 extended Middle Earth movies for around £20. I'm working on the theory that Apple probably won't go bust and they have apparently upgraded HD movies to 4k without charge. Plus I never pay full price! I have a lot of DVDs (now relegated to storage, so I can't tell you which version or "Red Cliff" I picked up for £1) but now only buy discs for things I really loved, and then rarely on release. I'm trying to be ruthless about what is being bought/replaced digitally, too.
I totally get the reluctance but, for me, it's (hopefully) the right choice. I would consider buying from Google or Amazon as well, but would NOT go to one of the smaller players.
