Normally, Drogon would kill anyone who'd seek to harm his "mother", let alone someone who actually killed her. Why didn't he kill Jon?
This is only my opinion, but he didn't kill Jon because he realized that what he did was for the best. That is why he destroyed the 'Iron Throne', he knew that was the cause of her death. Just my opinion. There are thousands of people out there that would disagree with me.

A few of my theories, in order of likelihood:
He couldn't harm Jon due to his Targaryen blood, so lashed out at the next available thing.
Bran had warged into him and was taking the opportunity to destroy the throne.
Drogon was thinking, "Thank The Old Gods that the crazy [censored] be dead, always telling me what to do. Imma gonna pretend I'm upset and then find somewhere quiet to enjoy my snack."

I think dragons are quite smart, but that they never really get to express it due to their loyalty to their master overshadowing it. Now that his master was gone, he finally got to make a decision of his own.
This, to some extent, also disproves the theory that Bran warged Drogon, as creatures with high mental capabilities are incredibly hard to warg.

I don’t think this is the case. Drogon could have easily lashed out his claws at the very least, especially since he was unarmed (as in that he wasn’t holding any weapons in his hand).

Maybe.
Pity that Drogon is not a POV character and we cannot know for sure his motives, only guess.

Clearly Drogon was much smarter than we were lead to believe....maybe that's why Brando ends the show going off to find were he's gone?

I found it weird that with all that heat the dragon was unleashing that Jon didn't get fried.
Drogon could control the direction of the fires but not the heat it unleashed.

I found this on Quora. I think it’s a pretty strong theory to say the least (also quite long, heh): https://www.quora.com/Why-did-Drogon-spare-Jon-Snow-s-life-after-he-killed-Daenerys
