Can I upload a release year without have a full release date?

I'm uploading a couple movies that were lost but were recently restored. Their release date were lost but I have the release year. How can I upload the release year without having a full release date? I know I could make a random date but I don't want to spread misinformation considering there is no other information on these films in the internet.

"For historical entries when only the year is known, the release date should be added as YEAR-01-01 (e.g. 1975-01-01)."
