When I'm adding cast and crew I have come across an issue where the area to select various people goes well beyond the browser window. This is what I mean. It happens fairly regularly. I've been zooming out significantly to see anything useful, but it can be annoying.

I believe the problem is with Japanese adult actresses and the very long titles they feature in (and the actresses themselves often have multiple aliases which doesn't help exclude these people).

I wonder if this would be easy to fix? Maybe limit the number of characters for the titles being shown? For the adult shows/films, the first few words makes it's obvious that it's an adult entry, so we don't need to see the whole title.

Yes, this problem is a nightmare.
Limiting title length would be more problematic.
However, the number of aliases is impossible to limit.
There are plans to be able to search using IMDB_ID.
Or some other IDs.

There are plans to add this feature.
It's already on Trello's To-Do list.
There is no implementation deadline.

Good to know the issue was known and it wasn't just me.

Not all profiles have IMDB profiles, so being able to use the TMDB ID as you've suggested on Trello is even better.
It doesn't quite get to the root of this issue, but it would help if adding a character limit to the cast/crew search box isn't straightforward (to be clear, I'm not suggesting limiting the title length, just how much of it is shown in the search box so the box doesn't go off the page).
