The Movie Database Support

Hi TMDb team,

I'd like to suggest a feature that would help many Spanish-speaking users: distinguishing between regional variants of Spanish in poster metadata, especially for Spain (es-ES) and Latin America (es-419 or similar).

Currently, posters in Spanish are all tagged as es, regardless of whether the title is used in Spain or Latin America. For example, the movie Demolition Man was released in Spain under its original title, but many posters currently show the Latin American title "El Demoledor", even when the metadata is just marked as “Spanish; Castellano”.

This causes issues when retrieving posters via the API, where users expect the artwork that matches their regional version of the movie. A shared es tag makes it impossible to prefer posters appropriate for Spanish audiences in Spain.

It would be great if TMDb could support regional language tags in poster uploads or at least allow users to mark posters as being for es-ES or es-419 specifically. This would improve relevance, reduce user confusion, and maintain regional authenticity across the site.

Thanks for considering this!
