Is revenue the same as box office, or what exactly?

I can't find much information other than it being in USD. Is it post theatrical release sales as well (physical media, etc.)? For example, the Gattaca API result matches other online sources for the domestic box office run.

The Contribution Bible answer most of your questions. Box office isn't defined, but it is understood to refer to theatrical earnings.
