Not a fan of the new rating system either. Previous star button style was quick and clean, inherent to TMDB, and a much better option for me personally. Please don't go IMDb route and force down changes no one asked. At least there should be an option for previous style. Thanks!
I can't even use it with Firefox Desktop but it work with Firefox on Android. The page simply turns black and white without the rating system appearing. And yes, I disabled every addon.
It would be more convenient to have smaller increments, such as 1%, rather than the current 10% steps. Additionally, instead of using emojis, consider offering a straightforward choice between these three options after the rating: "Thumbs up", "Thumbs down", or "Neutral".

I am not seeing any issues on Firefox (desktop or mobile). What OS are you on?
Is this intentional or have I misunderstood what these changes are ?
Hey @dokuro, tones are a new type of keyword. We have created a new section in the bible about this. Feel free to suggest some tweaks if that doesn't quite explain what they are well enough.
Sure, I get that and I've seen the bible entry. I was just surprised to see the tones users selected appearing under the changes is all. Would have thought this would be anonymous like user ratings.
The other new thing I don't like is labeling the rating system. Adding these arbitrary labels feels patronizing and unnecessary. Everybody has their personal, highly subjective criteria or system for that. For me, rating something "5" means the movie is average but also good, not just "passable". Most movies these days are average at best. That doesn't necessarily mean they're "not good", as the new rating system implies.
Another thing I noticed: by default, the new label system marks every movie as a "dumpster fire" with the rating slider set at "0". Why is that necessary?

Because whoever decided to create this 'new' system is a 12-year-old? 😏

Our rating system has been "10 steps" (ie. 10% -- (0.5/5 and 1/10)) for the last ~8 years. There is not currently any plans to change this.

I could be wrong but it appears users tones are coming up in the changes. See https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/634492-madame-web/changes?filter_key=key&filter=plot_keywords as an example.

They are not user data though, they are base metadata like regular keywords.

Btw, selecting tone emoji(s) and Vibe word(s) is not mandatory; we all still can simply numerically rate a movie or show, and leave things at that.

Windows 11 (10.0.22631 Build 22631).
Edit: Not sure what fixed it but it's working now.

But we can pass on values like 8.5 via API, right?
