Hi Travis,
Wondered whether we could add the following jobs :
Carpenter
Casting Associate
Hair Department Head
Thx
Mod edit:
You can request missing crew jobs in this topic. The new crew jobs have to be English and free of spelling mistakes. Please specify in which of the following departments each new job should be created: Directing, Writing, Editing, Camera, Production, Art, Costume & Make-Up, Visual Effects, Sound, Lighting, or Crew.
Kindly try to avoid making duplicates job requests (search the last few pages), or requesting crew jobs that are already added to TMDb.

What should the Title Cards' authors in silent films be identified as? I'm editing a bunch of Portuguese silent movies that identify them only as "Legendas", or "Title Cards"/"Intertitles". Should that be added as a new job?
Edit: Joseph Farnham won an Academy Award in 1929 for "Best Writing – Title Cards", this exact job! He won if for his work on the films "The Fair Co-Ed", "Laugh, Clown, Laugh", and "Telling the World". Yet he isn't listed in any of these three films' crews.
Also, a few of these films have someone doing "Direcção de Actores", something like "Actors Director". I guess it's an on set acting coach, it's usually an experienced actor doing this job, especially when there are many inexperienced actors in the film. I can't seem to find that job anywhere when editing, should it be added as well?

Also, what are we supposed to do for "Special Thanks" credits?

Most of these are jobs used in anime production, so it'd be great to see them added.
Visual Effects department
Art department
Writing department
Sound department
Editing department
Directing department
Production department
Also, Assistant Director of Photography should be moved to the Camera department. Supervising Animator to Visual Effects. Story Artist to Art.

I have come across a position that is not available, and have looked in past posts to see if it had been requested. From what I've seen, it doesn't seem to have been. So if possible could this job be added:
Production Department
• Assistant Casting Director

Writing Source Material
Would be a good catch-all for adaptations.

Department: Visual Effects
Sub Character Design
(Just one example: https://demonslayer-anime.com/risshihen/#staffcast much like how there's Extras ____ Casting/Dresser etc etc for shows/movies with real life humans, haha.)

I don't see why there's a need for a catch-all, when there are jobs for different kinds of source materials?
Where there is Supervising Animator (the English equivalent of 作画監督), missing and needed is Chief Supervising Animator as an English equivalent of 総作画監督.

"Compositor" and "Compositing" should not be under the Crew Category, but should be under "Visual Effects"

Hello,
I would like to suggest creating a department called "Music" and splitting out the jobs related to music from the "Sound" department. These are generally two very different teams.

Editing
Vision Mixer
VT Editor
Crew
Floor Manager
Producing
Series Producer
Also, are Producer's Assistant and Assistant Producer the same?
And Additional Writing should be moved to Writing rather than Crew

Could "Cinematography" be moved to be under "Camera"? It appears it's often used to mean the same as DOP.
