  • Born: January 7, 1975, in Stoughton, Massachusetts, USA

  • Relocates: to Houston, Texas, with his mother and grandmother at the age of seven.

  • Begins his acting career in various stage productions at the Unicorn Theatre in Houston at age nine.

  • He performs his first national television role in an episode of the NBC sitcom "Sister Kate" in 1989, at the age of 13, preceding several small roles in television series such as "The Wonder Years," "Family Matters" and "Grand."

  • is first studio film role appears in the 1991 drama Toy Soldiers, opposite actors Sean Astin, Wil Wheaton and Louis Gossett Jr.

  • Acting credits: Sixteen (16), mostly appearing on television series episodes, along with a TV Mini-Series, and Made-for-TV Movies)

  • Suffers a traumatic brain injury when he becomes broadsided at an intersection on March 29th 1994, at age 19.

  • He remains in a coma for four-and-a-half years, until he passes away on September 27th 1998.

  • In the movie "Miles From Nowhere" (1992), he plays a child who is comatose after a road traffic accident. Just two years, later it happens to him in real life. As it happens, his character survives, while Shawn, in real life, unfortunately does not.

  • Passes: September 27, 1998 (at the young age of 23)

That's a truly tragic story, Quite, not only that Shawn suffered such devastating injury - and at such a young age - but that he then lived four and a half years afterwards, vegetatively.

He's an actor I don't recall ever being familiar with by name, though I'm sure I've seen him in one or more series role, judging from his credits.
