Quite possibly the only actor I've ever gotten choked up upon hearing about their death. His face was a significant part of my youth, but not necessarily for Star Trek. Still sucks that he died and Sh1tner lived.

I wanted to be as cool and clever as he was, as Spock. His quizzical eyebrow, his one-liners . Then I discovered Nimoy, the man and the poet. Miss him.

The day before he died, Nimoy tweeted: 'A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP'.
He knew he was boldly going and left those very sweet and touching final words to his many fans. A true gent and star.
