Ser Davos: Davos comes from humble means and was a successful smuggler, who slipped through Targaryen loyalists' blockade to bring a shipful of much-needed supplies to Stannis and his starving forces defending the castle Storm's End during Robert's Rebellion.

Liam Cunningham: Climate campaigner Greta Thunberg and 11 other activists set sail for the Gaza Strip on Sunday afternoon, aboard a ship carrying aid. The mission is aimed at "breaking Israel's siege" of the devastated territory, organizers said.

"Game of Thrones" actor Liam Cunningham and Rima Hassan, a French member of the European Parliament who is of Palestinian descent, are also among the crew.

" If anything happens to the boat, it’s not a confrontation – it’s a deliberate attack. I’m indifferent to any criticisms over this.

If you look at it realistically, I play dress-up for a living. I love my job. I commit as much energy as I possibly can, but that’s the bottom line. I’m in my sixties. Like like a lot of people, I’ve paid off my mortgage. I own my car, I don’t have any bills.

I do not have an iota of interest in any consequences that will come because of this. I have to be able to look at my grandkids when they when they hit their teens and say to me, ‘What did you do during this?’ I do not want to be one of those people that said, ‘I didn’t do anything’.

In World War Two, there was an excuse that you didn’t know what was going on with the Holocaust – an obscene event that was going on – there was an excuse to say, ‘I didn’t know’.

Your only answer [for not acting now] to your grandkids, or your kids, when they grow up is, ‘I didn’t care’. The world cannot stand by and allow this to continue."

This has barely warranted a mention in the UK press...

When I looked, the only UK outlets that I could see carrying the story were a very left wing site, who had it on Sunday and The Mirror (think blue collar Democrat) on Monday, honest! As well as the Indy, The Guardian (white collar Democrat) has now added a small piece. The BBC still has yet to mention it.

I'm sorry I didn't include the link to challenge your statement, I just thought you hadn't had a chance to read it. I wonder why the BBC hasn't mentioned it? I went to their site & searched Liam Cunningham's name & came up empty. However, they did have a story about the 'first' attempt at the beginning of May. Weird.

The UK press hardly reported anything about what has been going on in Gaza until that horrifying footage of a man burning in his hospital bed emerged. They still seem reluctant to give too much space to the genocide. One of the UK forums I post in regularly deletes any posts mentioning the horrors that are going on over there.

OTH, plenty of coverage of the terrible act that happened in Boulder, Colorado. Even to the extent of local news outlets running pieces on the BBC interrupting a show to break the news.

IMHO, that just shows where their sympathies lie.
