I'm getting kind of nervous. Quite a few people from my general age range are 'shuffling off this mortal coil'! Does this mean I have to give up BACON?
I just now checked Wikipedia, to see if that's mentioned, and sure enough it is:
Ja'Net DuBois and Jeff Barry co-wrote The Jeffersons theme song, "Movin' on Up", which was sung by DuBois with a gospel choir.
Woulda never known that had you not mentioned it, Cell!
Tell me about it, plant. For decades, I thought that the woman who played "Weezie," George Jefferson's wife, sang the song! Her speaking voice and the singing voice on the theme sound a lot alike to me!

Ja'Net - such a lovely lady with wonderful and refreshing talent for acting, singing, comic timing, and pleasant interviewing.
She will be missed. My sympathies

Uh-oh! Well, avoid walking under any tall ladders or crossing black cats or opening any umbrellas indoors, and you'll probably be fine.

Yes! and also avoid Limbo-ing under any small ladders, or tossing polecats, or bludgeoning the door with an umbrella, or you'll probably be fined.

RIP, Ms. DuBois. She had a positive energy on the show, and I recently heard that she sang the theme song to "The Jeffersons."
