Apspriest Entrevista com o Vampiro

Have you heard enough? I've had to listen to that for centuries!

Love that line/scene even though it never happened in the book, it was a wonderful addition. Such a shame they never made The Vampire Lestat even though I'm sure Hollywood would fuck it up. Interview With a Vampire actually turned out to be a decent adaption and although it could have been better at least it wasn't dogshit.

It was a great scene. I agree it was very faithful and fulfilling vampire movie. I wish Queen of the damned was more like the source material but I don't see how they could use her as Queen Mary of heaven who forces an island to kill the male babies would translate to screen.

But I love to see the series continue.

Queen of the Damned has just too much material for a single movie and that garbage one that they came out with Stuart Townsend in the lead role was an abomination. QOTD has WAY too many characters and so much character development that in reality, it would have to be like an 8 episode series on Netflix or HBO to do it proper justice. The idea that you could cram all that information into a single 2-hour film is ridiculous. I have to say that of the Vampire Chronicles that is perhaps the best book although I am partial to The Vampire Lestat but I think that is just because that was the first book of the series I ever read. QOTD was a great read and specifically remembering not being able to put it down when I read it 20 years ago.

The book where LESTAT trades bodies with someone else for a MILLION BUCKS thinking it would only be a temporary situation that would last for 24 HOURS was also a great story.

Then when the person he trades bodies with takes off and disappears, he also describes how GROSS it is to have a HUMAN body again, because he also has to FEED it FOOD and deal with pooping and pissing again.

grin

And perhaps that's also a part of the reason why they've never made that BOOK into a film???

Because LESTAT would also be inside of the body of another human for MOST of the story???

And there's also a scene where he goes to LOUIE asking him for help who refuses to help him.

And the older BRAD also doesn't look very much like LOUIE anymore???

thinking

Hi Invidia grinning

The book that you speak of is Tale of the Body Thief and honestly, it is not my favorite book of the series but it was still pretty interesting for some of the very details you mentioned. Ann Rice is actually a very good writer and pays a great attention to detail. I am actually re-reading Interview With The Vampire right now and forgot just how intricate and detailed she gets especially how she describes Louis suffering and how he refuses to let go of his humanity. Lestat is the star of the series but Louis really is one of my favorites in the series. I'm surprised she never did another book about him.
